Love Legumes - Mochai Pulikuzhambu

'Failures teach you that life's nothing but an already prepared draft.... and whenever you face them, it always seems you've been rehearsing for a play that's never going to be staged.'  But never stop rehearsing until your last breath.... because only doing something will keep you alive. You never know which of the plays would be staged and when.... Always remember that only the rolling stone catches no moss. So move on and on... no matter whatever tries to stop you.
This mochai pulikuzhambu is a very quick curry you can prepare for your rice. That too, when you have the frozen ones in hand, its all the more easier!!!!!

You will need..........
  • 1 cup frozen mochai
  • 1 small lemon sized tamarind
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 2 sprigs of curry leaves
  • 2 tsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Get going..........

Soak the tamarind in a cup of warm water and extract the pulp. Heat a kadai with oil and temper it with curry leaves and fenugreek seeds. Take care that you don't burn the seeds, for the curry would turn bitter then. Throw in the onions and saute until they turn translucent. Add in the mochai and stir it for a minute or two. Now add in the turmeric, chilli and coriander powder along with the tamarind extract. Add in 2 cups of water and let it cook until the legumes are done. It almost takes about 15 to 20 mins. When the mochai is fully cooked, switch off the stove when the curry reaches the desired consistency. If you want it a bit more spicier, add in a tsp of pepper powder in the end.

Serve it with hot rice or serve it hot with rice !!!!!!!!!!
