Radish Soup - A tribute to Chef Jacob

So how was Diwali? Had loads of fun? And finally the festival for which there's been a year of waiting is over... so now we all start looking for the next Diwali........ isn't it.... as it is 'the biggest occasion' in India...

This post is a tribute to Chef Jacob who passed away last week..... I'm a great admirer of him... I loved his shows.... mainly the noon shows on the weekend.... 'Aaha enna Rusi' was my favourite for years even before I knew that cooking was my passion. Even after moving away from India.. I would wait for the youtube clips of the program... What a chef he was....... a very lively, enthusiastic, innovative...... and the list will go on and on.... His sudden demise was very shocking.......... I thought of making this 'Radish Soup' - his recipe as a tribute to him.

You will need...........

Radish - 1/2 cup (grated)
Onion - 1/2 cup (chopped finely)
Tomato - 1/4 cup (chopped finely)
Jeera - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Pepper - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tsp

Get going...........
  1. Heat oil in a kadai and temper it with jeera.
  2. When jeera starts sizzling, add in the radish along with turmeric powder and salt. Saute until the raw smell changes.
  3. Then add in the onions and tomatoes. Cook until the tomatoes turn mushy.
  4. Now add in 1 cup of water and cook until the veggies are done.
  5. Add in the pepper powder after it reaches the desired consistency.

Serve it along with bread pieces or soup sticks and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
