Masala Stuffed Wheat Buns

Buns never miss my weekend baking list... as they are not only easy to make but also very healthily tasty as they are made from wheat. I always try to replace white flour in most of the recipes(lotssssss of health concern!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seriously.......... believe me ;-) ). When I came across this recipe in Raks kitchen I wanted to try it and.....................I won. They were wonderful with Indian flavors..........and is a great combination with a cup of coffee..(especially filter coffee!!!!!!!!).

You will need..........

Wheat flour - 1 and 1/2 cups
Warm water - 1/4 cup
Yeast - 2 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Olive oil - 2 tsp
For the filling
Mixed veggies - 1 cup (chopped)
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Coriander - 2 tblsp (chopped)
Green chilly - 2 (chopped)
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Red chilly - 1/2 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tsp

Get going.........
  1. Mix yeast in warm water and allow it to proof.
  2. Take wheat flour in a bowl along with salt. Make a well in the center. Pour the yeast mixture and knead it until you get a soft pliable dough. Oil the dough.
  3. Oil a bowl and place the dough. Cover it with a cling wrap and allow it to rise in a warm place for an hour or so.
  4. In the meantime, prepare the filling. Heat a tawa with oil. Add jeera. Wait till they splutter. then add the onions and greenchillies. Cook until the onion turns translucent.
  5. Now add the other veggies and cook until they are done. Add chilli and turmeric powder. Give a stir. Add salt and coriander leaves. Switch off the stove. Let it cool.
  6. Take the rised dough, punch down the air. Divide it into 6 parts. Roll each into a thick disc. Place the filling. Pull the dough to cover. Complete this for all the portions.
  7. Place them in a baking tray and allow it for the second rise.
  8. Bake them in a pre-heated oven for 15-20 mins until they become golden brown on top.

Enjoy it warm with a cup of coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
